Clark County coronavirus cases top 80,000

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The Southern Nevada Health District added 322 new coronavirus cases to Clark County's total on Wednesday, bringing that total to 80,104.

The virus-related death toll in Clark County rose by 9 to 1,506.

Clark County's continues to be included on a list of Nevada counties considered at an "elevated risk" for contracting Covid-19. Six other counties - Elko, Humboldt, Lincoln, Lyon, Nye and Washoe are also on the "elevated risk" list. Carson City county was taken off the "elevated risk" list on Tuesday

Counties are considered an "elevated risk" if they meet two of three criteria — fewer than 100 average daily tests per 100,000 people in the county (273 for Clark County), more than 200 total cases per 100,000 people diagnosed and reported in the past 30 days (524 for Clark County), or a test positivity rate over two weeks of more than 8 percent when there are also more than 50 cases per 100,000 people (9.5% for Clark County).

Statewide, there were 97,479 positive cases (up 561 from Monday) with 1,766 virus-related deaths (up 10).

Nevada's test positivity rate over the past 14 days is 10.1%, with a 14-day rolling case average of 571.
