Nevada coronavirus cases pass the 100,000 mark

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - The Southern Nevada Health District added 678 new coronavirus cases to Clark County's total on Saturday, bringing that total to 82,362.

The virus-related death toll in Clark County held steady at 1,515.

Clark County continues to be included on a list of Nevada counties considered at an "elevated risk" for contracting Covid-19. Eight other counties - Carson City, Douglas, Elko, Humboldt, Lincoln, Lyon, Nye and Washoe are also on the "elevated risk" list.

Counties are considered an "elevated risk" if they meet two of three criteria — fewer than 100 average daily tests per 100,000 people in the county (257 for Clark County), more than 200 total cases per 100,000 people diagnosed and reported in the past 30 days (535 for Clark County), or a test positivity rate over two weeks of more than 8 percent when there are also more than 50 cases per 100,000 people (9.8% for Clark County).

Statewide, there are 100,763 positive cases (up 977 from Friday) with 1,777 virus-related deaths (flat). 

Nevada's test positivity rate over the past 14 days is 10.6%, with a 14-day rolling case average of 605.
